Excellent Award to Ezio Indiani, GM of the Hotel Principe di Savoia, promoting the Made in Italy

Milan, 24 February 2009 – Ezio Indiani, General Manager of Hotel Principe di Savoia, one of the Dorchester Collection, received the Excellent Award 2009 as “International Hotel General Manager who promotes the Made in Italy in the world”. The award is one of the most prestigious recognitions of managerial talents in the tourism field. The ceremony was held at Hotel Principe di Savoia on February 20. Ezio Indiani is known worldwide as a leading figure in Italian luxury hotel management and has worked at some of the most relevant hotels in the world.
Ezio Indiani began General Manager of Hotel Principe di Savoia on July 2005. The Dorchester Collection appointed him to oversee the progressive refurbishments currently underway at the most prestigious Milanese Hotel during a period of expansion for the whole group. In fact, the Dorchester Collection has recently acquired two new American luxury hotels: the New York Palace in New York and the Bel Air Hotel in Los Angeles.
In the course of his 25-year career, Ezio Indiani received many awards for his excellent managerial qualities. A case in point is the prestigious Hermes Prize as best Hotel General Manager in the world – the major award in the luxury hôtellerie field – won by Ezio Indiani in 2002.
Also Hotel Principe di Savoia obtained many prestigious international prizes, such as the Travel & Leisure USA 2009, as one of the best hotel in the world, and the Prix Villegiature 2008 for the best bathroom in a hotel room in Europe.
The prestigious “Excellent Award”, one of the most ambitious recognitions of the managerial talent in the Italian tourism industry field, is assigned every year to the most relevant business people, politicians and protagonists of the national and international scene such as Mercedes Bresso (President of the Piedmont region), Massimo Cacciari (mayor of Venice) and Paul Mc Manus (CEO of The Leading Hotels of the World). Mario Mancini, editor of exclusive magazines such as “Master Meeting”, “Hotel & Maisons” and “Paradisi del Benessere”, created this extremely renowned award, promoted and organised by the Communication Agency Int. The 14th edition of the Excellent Award was held on February 20th . For the ceremony, the elegant meeting rooms of the Hotel Principe di Savoia hosted 400 hotel managers of 2,000 exclusive Italian structures.
